In November, NARU Director Keith Prior and Head of Education Dave Bull QAM visited Gibraltar to meet the local ambulance service and to witness the first training course provided to Gibraltar in PRPS (powered respirator protective suits) being delivered by John Hopkins of the NARU Education Centre to 36 local staff.
The course was a success and future work – in collaboration with the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE) which acts as the national conduit between NHS ambulance services and external organisations wishing to avail themselves of expertise from within the UK ambulance service – could include health emergency planning, through to command training and preparation for an MTFA (firearms) incident.
